Clinical supervision is a vital part of counselling practice – a nurturing, open and honest space to reflect, grow and sustain yourself as a practitioner.
Supervision is more than a professional requirement. It is your support system as a therapist!
My approach to supervision is pluralistic, collaborative and creative, supporting you to develop as a professional while also looking after your own wellbeing.
Whether you’re a trainee or an experienced counsellor, supervision with me offers space to:
When supervision is effective, you feel more confident, more resourced, and more connected to your work.
Since qualifying as a Clinical Supervisor in 2020, I’ve really enjoyed combining humanistic, creative and practical approaches to help supervisees grow with confidence and build businesses they thrive in!
I trained under the inspirational Jenny Biancardi – a well respected figure in the counselling world who worked with pioneers such as Carl Rogers and John Wilson. Her mix of knowledge, humour and compassion continues to shape my work today, long after her well deserved retirement!
My supervision draws on:
This means we don’t just look at “what happened in the session,” but also at your client’s process, your process, and the bigger picture of your practice.

Both BACP and NCPS recommend 1.5 hours of supervision per month for qualified counsellors.
I offer flexible options to meet your needs:
If you’re working toward accreditation, a minimum of 90 minutes per month is mandatory, which I can provide in line with professional body requirements.
Alongside and within clinical supervision, I offer optional business coaching and mentoring.
Many counsellors feel confident in the therapy room but less sure about running their practice.
With over 20 years’ business experience, two successful companies, and several business awards, I love helping therapists build “businesses with a heart.”
During Supervision, we can cover:

Both NCPS and BACP highlight how essential supervision is for safe, ethical and effective counselling practice.
As NCPS (2021) states:
“Clinical Supervision is fundamental to the provision of safe, ethical and competent counselling. Concerns about any aspect of your counselling work should be brought to supervision where further support, understanding and advice can be sought.”
And from the BACP Ethical Guidelines:
“A specialised form of mentoring provided for practitioners responsible for undertaking challenging work with people. Supervision is provided to ensure standards, enhance quality, advance learning, stimulate creativity, and support the sustainability and resilience of the work being undertaken.”
These definitions show that supervision is about more than meeting requirements – it’s about protecting your clients, deepening your skills and sustaining your practice for the long term.
Starting supervision with someone new can feel like a big step, which is why I offer a free 30-minute introductory session online.
If you are a counsellor or psychotherapist looking for a supervisor, you already know how important the supervisory relationship is.
Supervision is where you can reflect on your client work, explore ethical challenges, and look after your own wellbeing. It is also the space where you grow as a practitioner.
But here’s the thing: not every supervisor will feel like the right fit. The best supervision relationships are built on trust, openness, and genuine collaboration.
That is why I offer trial supervision taster sessions, so you can get a feel for how we might work together before making a longer-term commitment.
This isn’t a full supervision session of course, but rather a chance for us to meet, talk about what you’re looking for, and see whether we feel like a good fit to work together. My usual confidentiality and professional guidelines apply.
